The Enchanted Wood
The Enchanted Wood
Last term, Year 3 and 4 children treated us to a fantastic show called ‘The Enchanted Wood’, a musical that led us through the changing seasons in a British woodland.
The story begins in Autumn, where we are introduced to all the animals and birds of the forest. We saw the animals getting ready for winter, with hedgehogs, dormice and Greater Horseshoe Bats settling down to hibernate. Unfortunately, in the dead of winter, builders arrived to try to convince the local mayor to allow building on the woodland. The animals were rightly alarmed, but luckily the spring flowers of the woodland, together with some very lively frogs, sprang into action to show the woodland at its best. The council decided against any building and the woodland was saved. A happy ending!
The children sang, danced and acted confidently throughout and the whole show was a delight to watch. A big thank you to all involved. This was a truly magical performance.
